A British Columbia Securities Commission panel has granted a request by Carolann Steinhoff to stay an Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada sanctions decision until a review is heard and decided.
The panel granted the stay on condition that Steinhoff be subject to strict supervision.
The commission will review the IIROC decision made on March 5, 2010 making findings against Steinhoff, and the IIROC decision made on Sept. 17, 2010 sanctioning Steinhoff as a result of those findings.
Steinhoff also asked that the hearing and review be conducted as a new hearing. The panel did not rule on this issue. The parties agreed to make relevant submissions by November 5.
