The 16th annual Canadian Investment Awards Gala will be held December 1, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Morningstar Research Inc. announced Monday.
This year, CBC’s chief correspondent Peter Mansbridge will host the awards ceremony, which is dedicated to honouring those companies and individuals that through superior investment products, service, marketing and education have made a difference in the lives of investors.
Morningstar acquired the awards event in December 2009 and is introducing several enhancements including state-of-the-art stage production, live music, a more streamlined awards lineup, and an elegant sit-down dinner integrated with the awards ceremony.
“We are also committed to upholding the Canadian Investment Awards as one of the industry’s highest honours and will continue to draw on the expertise of professionals from across the country to evaluate nominees and select winners.” says Scott Mackenzie, president and CEO of Toronto-based Morningstar Research Inc.
This year, Morningstar has partnered with MusiCounts, the Canadian music-education charity associated with The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the nationally televised JUNO Awards. MusiCount’s mission is to provide students with access to comprehensive music programs in Canadian schools. A portion of the proceeds from submission-based awards will be donated to MusiCounts.
The Canadian Investment Awards attracts more than 600 guests annually from across the investment industry.
Early-bird tickets for the black-tie gala event are $295 plus HST or $2,750 plus HST for a table of 10. Full event details, including online ticket sales are available at
